Why Does Brisbane Water Now Taste and Smell So Crook?
The anti-flouride brigade are correct, Brisbane’s water does now taste and smell awful. I only noticed today. It sort of smells like wet gravel and tastes like it has rocks in it. The colour is OK, but the smell and taste are disgusting.
I hope the south-east corner’s water quality becomes a huge election issue. I really don’t care too much about the flouride, but the new smell and taste of Brisbane water is enough to swing my vote. Anna, it’s time for another backflip.
Do a Kevin, turn off the flouride and commission a 20 year long working committee.

Tilly, go to bunnings and for $60 you can buy a water purifier that you attach to your home tap. It has a nozzle for normal washing up and one for drinking….. only down fall is you can not use hot water through it….. my partner and I have noticed the differnce in drinking quality and are now enjoying water again…… DON’T BUY BOTTLED…. just buy a one off purifer…. cheap from Bunnings

If Anna Bligh wants to save water i guess she has achieved it by adding fluride to the water, now no one can drink it because it tastes soooo bad, so I guess it will save the states water supply mega letres of water per year. but it will cost the states health system millions. hasnt any one told the polies that fluride is poisonous.

Yeah tastes awful!, I have been geeting up and having a glass of tap water for the last 10 years every moring with my meds. It tastes so bad I have to rinse my mouth out with anything I can find close at hand, there is a small bar fridge next to kitchen . . . erhm, hic! But seriously it’s undrinkable.

The bad taste and spell has been around at our place (Southside of Brisbane) since 10 December 2008. I have had to resort to buying expensive bottled water since this time and have now had to have my mother bringing me her tank water (because I can’t afford the costs of bottled water).
I stopped drinking the water because it was causing sever headaches, nausea and vomitting - how can they say that is safe.
Almost a month later I still can’t drink the water even then it goes through a water filter (filtered to 0.2 micron) and then 3 times through a filter water jug.
